Cattle Drive

3900 Riverside Dr & Kenwood St.
Burbank, CA

Once upon a time Western Movies were part of the landscape of Burbank its studios and ranches, using sets for films like the 1952 Gary Cooper classic “High Noon”, Lee Marvin’s 1965 Oscar-winning Western comedy “Cat Ballou,” as well as numerous other features and television shows.
Honoring those days, this mural shows a cattle drive scene that was idealized in many movies, where songs and movie stars combined to create a nostalgic, bucolic world. One side represents the day, where cowboys drove the cattle on the open range. The other side night time when cowboys soothed the cattle and themselves with sweet songs.
