As part of a redesign initiative for American Legion Post 520, I proposed a minimalistic mural that subtly honors the building’s identity without overwhelming its architecture. The goal was to create a visual marker that resonates with the community and veterans alike—recognizable, respectful, and clean in its execution.
The Post specifically requested a reinterpretation of a previous design I created for the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) in Burbank, which featured understated patriotic elements and symbolic geometry. Drawing from that aesthetic, the new mural integrates simplified iconography—such as the Legion emblem, muted flag motifs, or silhouettes—that evoke service and unity while maintaining a quiet dignity.
